The MIUI Weekly News is time! Last week is really a memorable one for us, because we have the great news that the Snapdragon 712 is coming up with a faster CPU and Quick Charge 4 +! Another exciting piece of news is that Android Q can provide third-party apps with RCS support We've also learned about Bluetooth 5.1: What's new and why it matters! Lei Jun also talks about Xiaomi's and her associates ' future! Let's have a full look at the top news now!

Qualcomm has announced a new addition to the Snapdragon 712 chipset portfolio. It is based on the 10 nm process and upgrades to the popular Snapdragon 710 as a modest upgrade. It has a faster octa - core processor "that adds performance boost and makes it a gaming powerhouse."

The main difference is that the CPU is now running eight Kryo 360 cores at 2.3 GHz compared to 2.2 GHz. Thanks to TrueWireless Stereo Plus and Broadcast Audio technologies, the 712 also provides Quick Charge 4 + instead of Quick Charge 4 and better Bluetooth audio.

During this year's spring festivals, Qualcomm Company organized a special function labeled "end of the year" in China. There have been several interviews with leading manufacturers of smartphones in China. One of the interviewees was Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, who during his interview gave very interesting statements.

Lei Jun shared a summary of the company's goals and the future vision. Lei Jun said they'd launch a multi-brand strategy for his year. Lei Jun referred to the company's two main brands Xiaomi and Redmi and the company's three sub-brands POCO, Mito and BlackShark.
Android Q
RCS has taken years to gain wide - ranging network support and we are still suffering from problems with carrier interoperability. The current landscape, especially for consumers, is nothing if not completely overcomplicated to navigate.

But the topic may become a little simpler once Android Q rolls around, as a pile of new RCS - specific APIs have appeared in AOSP, probably bound for the next release of Android. These APIs can finally enable third - party apps to work on supported carriers with RCS.
Bluetooth 5.1
Bluetooth 5.1 brings new "direction - finding" features that allow Bluetooth devices to determine the physical location of the centimeter, helping to position indoors. This latest version contains features that make Bluetooth connections more reliable.

Current Bluetooth proximity systems can guess how distant a device is by using signal strength, such as your smarthome or smartwatch. You may know you're a couple of meters away, but they don't know the direction.
